If I didn't own a Mac...

It's not often that I'm compelled to lift content from our discussion boards and stick it here on the actual site. But the following post by "redcow99" struck me as something that every Mac user with any interest in user base expansion should probably consider:

"If I didn't own a Mac, Garage Band would be the reason I bought one. Since Garage Band has been released I have been reading how great it is and how the $50 price tag for iLife 04 to get it is well worth it. When I saw Steve Jobs demonstrate it I thought it was pretty cool. But I wasn't going to spend $50 dollars to get it when I just bought a new computer that had everything but Garage Band. I don't do any work with sound, and I had no need for it.

"Well yesterday one of my clients called and said they wanted sound on their website. So I searched the net and found a few site that sold sound loops. Many of them were very good, but nothing that would sound good with the clients site. So after work I drove to the Apple Store to try Garage Band out. I have to tell you my experience at first was not going well. I asked the sales assistant some questions and decided to go ahead a purchase it.

"When I got it home and stated playing around with it 'OH MY GOD'. This was the most coolest app I had ever used. As the hours pasted and I churned out one loop after another, I began to realize that this is no basic application. It is simple enough for beginners to use, yet has some nice control features for someone who wants more."

Something tells me that there are quite a few readers out there who could complete the sentence "If I didn't own a Mac, the reason I would buy one would be...", and there would be no shortage of good answers to go around. So, here's my challenge to each of you: go for it! Head on over to the discussion board thread where redcow99's post is located, and add your own ending to the above sentence. I can't wait to read all about what would make you switch to the Mac...if you weren't using one already.
